49ers cut Jonathan Martin

Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco 49ers waived offensive tackle Jonathan Martin on Thursday.

The 49ers acquired Martin in a trade with the Miami Dolphins on March 11, 2014. He appeared in 15 games (nine starts) for the 49ers last season.

Martin walked away from the Dolphins in October 2013 amid claims he was bullied by former teammate Richie Incognito. He had started the first 23 games of his NFL career before abruptly leaving the team.

The Dolphins took Martin in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
