(SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks are mired in a season-high three-game losing streak and will try to stop the bleeding when they visit the Orlando Magic Wednesday at Amway Center.
The Hawks played three of the NBA's best teams in Golden State, Oklahoma City and San Antonio. Guard Jeff Teague had the unfortunate task of guarding Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook and Tony Parker in succession.
"I've been tired and banged up," Teague said after Sunday's 114-95 loss to the Spurs. "It's a long season. They're tired and banged up, too. I don't think it was about Parker and those guys tonight. I think it was about us. I think we just played poorly altogether."
Atlanta has given up 100 or more points in the last four games and came up empty in the Alamo City. The Hawks scored just 13 points in the first quarter and that was enough to keep them playing from behind. Paul Millsap scored 22 points, Dennis Schroder had 18 and Teague finished with eight points and six assists.
San Antonio shot 56.1 percent for the game and posted a 43-29 rebounding advantage. The Spurs forced 19 Atlanta turnovers for 19 points.
"We didn't come out ready," Schroder said. "We didn't play defense as a team."
Hawks defensive specialist Thabo Sefolosha hasn't played since Jan. 30 against Portland because of a groin issue and is probable Wednesday.
The Eastern Conference-leading and Southeast champion Hawks are 23-12 on the road and will host Miami Friday night.
Orlando is 1-1 on a five-game homestand and dropped a 119-100 decision to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.
The Nuggets took control of the game with a 41-point second quarter and received 40 points from Danilo Gallinari. Victor Oladipo and Nikola Vucevic scored 21 and 20 points, respectively, for the Magic.
"This is a learning experience," Oladipo said. "We just have to continue getting better."
Magic rookie Elfrid Payton, who was coming off two straight triple-doubles, totaled six points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Orlando forward Tobias Harris (ankle) missed his third straight game and is questionable Wednesday. Harris said the ankle is getting better thanks to extended rest and talked about the Hawks coming to town.
"They're a team that moves the ball really well and is very good on the defensive end," Harris said. "As of late they haven't been playing as well, but we have to expect the top team to come here and play the best basketball that they do play. Overall we have to be pretty much almost perfect to win this game."
The Magic, losers in 11 of the past 14 games, have a 12-23 home record and will also welcome Detroit and San Antonio to Amway Center.
Orlando is 1-2 against Atlanta this season and has lost 12 of the last 15 meetings between the Southeast foes.
