Tallahassee, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Shakayla Thomas led all scorers with 17 points off the bench, and second-seeded Florida State put a 91-49 drubbing on the No. 15 seed Alabama State Lady Hornets in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tournament at the Tucker Center.

The Seminoles (30-4) will host No. 7 seed Florida Gulf Coast in the second round on Monday night. Maegan Conwright had 16 points, Leticia Romero recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists, and Ivey Slaughter scored 13 in the victory.

Britney Wright had 14 points to pace the Lady Hornets (17-15). But reserve Ashanti Spencer was the team's only other player in double figures, finishing with 12 points as well as four of Alabama State's 32 turnovers.

The Lady Hornets made only 7-of-27 (.259) field-goal attempts in the first half as they dug themselves a 37-19 hole at the break.

FSU continued to pad its lead in the second stanza with a 57.1-percent effort from the field and 20-of-23 free throws.

The Seminoles capitalized on Alabama State's miscues to the tune of a 38-8 advantage in points off turnovers for the game.
