Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - Ondrej Pavelec stopped 28 shots for his second shutout of the season to lead the Winnipeg Jets in a 3-0 victory over the Washington Capitals on Saturday.

Mark Scheifele posted a goal and an assist while Mark Stuart and Adam Lowry also scored for the Jets, who have ripped off four straight wins.

"I thought we did a really good job of 5-on-5 play tonight," said Winnipeg head coach Paul Maurice. "We were able to control the puck real well and any time we did have a breakdown Ondrej was there for us."

Braden Holtby turned aside 21 shots for the Capitals, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

"I thought we were playing really good in the first period," said Washington head coach Barry Trotz. "But then they got that second goal in and it seemed like we were chasing a lot. We had some quality chances, but just couldn't get anything past Pavelec."

The Jets scored the only goal they needed 11:46 into the first as Drew Stafford skated in down the left wing and from behind the net fired a pass out front. Scheifele wasn't able to control the disc, but it came to the right and Stuart snapped it in for his second of the season.

Winnipeg padded its advantage just past the halfway mark of the second as Scheifele took a feed in the slot and his first shot hit the crossbar, but the puck sat behind the goaltender and he was able to tap it in for his 13th of the season.

Pavelec saved his best for the third period by making 11 saves, including a point-blank attempt from Alex Ovechkin late in the game to keep the shutout going.

Lowry scored with the net empty and Winnipeg skating shorthanded with 1:22 showing to put away the contest.
