Hannover, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored on either side of the intermission on Saturday to lead Borussia Dortmund to a nervy 3-2 victory over 10-man Hannover at the AWD Arena.

Dortmund came into the match in desperate need of a good performance in the midst of three-match winless run across all competitions, including a 5-1 aggregate loss to Juventus in the Champions League in midweek.

Despite the European exit, Jurgen Klopp's team was on the front foot early on Saturday as Aubameyang opened the scoring after 19 minutes.

But Hannover found an equalizer just past the hour mark through Lars Stindl and the clubs went into the intermission on level terms.

Hannover went down to 10 men 10 minutes into the second half after Leonardo Bittencourt was shown his second yellow card and dismissed by referee Felix Brych.

Two minutes after the red card, Dortmund went in front through a goal from former Manchester United man Shinji Kagawa and Aubameyang completed his double just past the hour mark to make it 3-1.

Hannover, however, would not go quietly as Stindl nabbed his second of the day with eight minutes to play to make things interesting, but Dortmund's back line held firm to collect an important three points.

Also in the Bundesliga on Saturday, Bayer Leverkusen claimed three points with a 1-0 result over Schalke at the Veltins Arena thanks to a 35th-minute strike from Karim Bellarabi.

Davie Selke and Matthias Lehmann traded goals as Cologne and Werder Bremen played to a 1-1 stalemate at the RheinEnergieStadion, while goals from Jonathan Schmid and Nils Petersen powered Freiburg to a 2-0 win against Augsburg.

Daniel Ginczek netted a pair of goals in a span of two minutes and Alexandru Maxim added a third goal as Stuttgart claimed a 3-1 victory over Eintracht, while Saturday's final fixture saw Paderborn and Hoffenheim play to a scoreless draw at the Benteler Arena.
