Berea, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Browns officially signed wide receiver Dwayne Bowe on Friday.

Bowe had spent his entire eight-year career with the Kansas City Chiefs before being released in a salary cap move last week.

"The Browns were the perfect situation from the fan base to the style of offense and the way I'll be utilized to help the team go to the next level," Bowe said.

The 30-year-old Bowe, who was drafted 23rd overall by the Chiefs in 2007 out of LSU, had 60 receptions and 754 yards in 15 games last season, but was held without a touchdown for the first time in his career.

Bowe posted a career-high 15 touchdowns during the 2010 season, but has since scored just 13.

During his time with the Chiefs, Bowe compiled 532 catches for 7,155 yards and 44 scores in 118 games. His reception total ranks second in Chiefs' franchise history (first among wide receivers) and his 7,155 yards rank third.

Bowe played in the 2010 Pro Bowl.
