Lake Forest, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bears signed long snapper Thomas Gafford to a one-year contract on Wednesday.

Gafford played his first seven years in the league with the Kansas City Chiefs, appearing in 105 straight games as long snapper.

The University of Houston product has recorded 19 special teams tackles and a fumble recovery during his NFL career, which began as an undrafted free agent with Green Bay in January 2006. He also spent time with Seattle (2007 offseason) and Chicago (2008 preseason, including two preseason contests) before signing with Kansas City in October 2008.
