New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Connecticut will head to the NCAA Women's Tournament as the top-ranked team in the country.

The defending champion Huskies were a unanimous choice in the final Associated Press women's college basketball poll, earning all 35 first-place votes from the nationwide media panel on Monday.

UConn, which was No. 1 to start the season before suffering its lone loss of the season to Stanford in November, reclaimed the top spot five weeks ago. It's the 12th season that the Huskies have been No. 1 in the final poll.

Notre Dame, South Carolina, Maryland, Baylor, Tennessee, Florida State, Louisville, Arizona State and Oregon State completed the top 10.

The second 10 was comprised of Kentucky, Mississippi State, unbeaten Princeton, Stanford, North Carolina, Duke, Chattanooga, Iowa, George Washington and Florida Gulf Coast.

There were no changes among the top 23 teams in the poll, since most of the major women's conference tournaments were completed last weekend.

The last five teams ranked were Texas A&M, Northwestern, Ohio State, California and newcomer South Florida. California moved up one spot from 25th, while South Florida replaced Seton Hall.
