Sandy, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Real Salt Lake and the Philadelphia Union split the points at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday as the two sides played to a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Salt Lake went in front in the 29th minute when Javier Morales curled a free kick toward goal that took a slight deflection on its way into the back of the net.

Philadelphia answered with two goals in quick succession, and it was newcomer Fernando Aristeguieta who provided the honors.

The Union striker leveled the score in 34th minute by pouncing on a rebound and heading the loose ball into the back of the net.

He then poached a go-ahead goal four minutes later, latching on to a long throw-in and firing a right-footed shot off the far post and into the back of the net.

The home side regrouped at halftime and leveled the score in the 55th minute when Jamison Olave steered home a free kick from Morales, but the Salt Lake defender gifted the lead back to the Union by conceding an own goal just three minutes later, turning a cross from the left flank into his own net.

It looked as if Philadelphia had done enough to clinch the win, but the hosts were awarded a suspect penalty five minutes from time after Luke Mulholland collided with the outstretched arm of Maurice Edu. Alvaro Saborio converted on the ensuing attempt to ensure that Salt Lake did not walk away empty-handed.
