For the first time in nearly three years, Adam Scott packed up his bags at the end of a round. On a Friday.
Scott missed four putts inside 5 feet in the second round of the Valspar Championship and shot a 75 to miss the cut. That ended the longest active streak on the PGA Tour. He had made 45 consecutive cuts dating to the Byron Nelson Championship in May 2012.
Scott finished his round by missing a 3-foot par putt. He used a conventional putter for the second straight week and said that wasn't to blame. The Australian was coming off a tie for fourth at Doral. He says he needed to tighten up aspects of his game, and that a poor short game made the mistakes look worse.
