New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The National Hockey League on Friday handed down a two-game suspension to Chicago Blackhawks forward Joakim Nordstrom for his action in Thursday's game against Arizona.

Nordstrom was given a minor for boarding when he shoved Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson from behind in the final minute of Chicago's 2-1 victory.

Ekman-Larsson has been pronounced day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

The rookie Swede was also docked $6,630.82 in pay which automatically goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Nordstrom won't be eligible to return until Wednesday, when the Blackhawks head to Manhattan to take on the Rangers.
