New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside has been suspended one game without pay for his involvement in an on-court altercation with Celtics center Kelly Olynyk.

Late in the third quarter of Boston's win over Miami on Monday, Whiteside posted up Olynyk near the free throw line and elbowed him in the back of the neck. He then charged at Olynyk and threw him to the floor, seemingly unprovoked.

Whiteside drew a Flagrant 2 foul on the play and was ejected.

It was the second such incident involving Whiteside since the former Marshall standout emerged as a key piece for Miami's playoff push. Last week, Whiteside tackled Suns center Alex Len to the floor, drawing an ejection for both players.

Whiteside is averaging 10.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game since signing with Miami midway through the season.
