Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Roman Polak will undergo season-ending hernia surgery, the team announced on Monday.
Over 56 games this season, Polak totaled five goals and four assists along with a minus-22.
He was in his first season with Toronto after spending his first eight with St. Louis. Over 480 games, the 28-year-old has 18 goals and 70 assists.
The team recalled defenseman Petter Granberg from Toronto of the AHL on an emergency basis to take Polak's spot.
