New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Calgary Flames center Jiri Hudler and goaltenders Semyon Varlamov of Colorado and Cam Talbot of the New York Rangers have been selected as the NHL's top players for last week.
Hudler earned the First Star after leading the NHL with eight points in four games last week. He shared the league lead with four goals, including an overtime winner last Tuesday against Philadelphia.
Varlamov picked up the Second Star thanks to a 3-0-0 week that included a goals-against average of 0.69 and a .981 save percentage. He backstopped the Avs to three wins, including a 44-save shutout of Columbus on Saturday.
Talbot helped the Rangers blank the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday to complete his week to garner Third Star honors. He went 2-0-1 with a 0.99 GAA and a .965 save percentage last week.
