Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco 49ers and defensive lineman Darnell Dockett have agreed to terms on a two-year contract.

Dockett, a three-time Pro Bowl pick, was released by the Arizona Cardinals last week. He missed the entire 2014 season after suffering a knee injury in training camp.

The 33-year-old veteran had spent his entire career with the Cardinals, who selected the Florida State product in the third round of the 2004 draft. He has compiled 459 tackles, 40 1/2 sacks, seven forced fumbles and four interceptions in 158 career games.

The 49ers also signed wide receiver Jerome Simpson to a two-year deal. Simpson has played for the Bengals (2008-11) and Vikings (2012-13), recording 145 receptions for 2,004 yards and eight touchdowns.
