Acapulco, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Top-seeded Kei Nishikori made easy work of Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-4, 6-4 to reach the semifinals at the $1.4 million Mexican Open.

Nishikori will face fourth-seeded Kevin Anderson, who snuck into the final four by overcoming Serbian Viktor Troicki 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 on the hardcourts at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess.

The 6-foot-8 South African Anderson lost to Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in last year's final here.

The second-seeded David Ferrer had some trouble moving on to the semis, winning a three-set match with Bernard Tomic 6-4, 3-6, 6-1. Ferrer captured three straight Acapulco titles from 2010-12 and was the runner-up to Rafael Nadal in 2013.

Ryan Harrison will meet Ferrer in the next round after he fought past sixth- seeded Ivo Karlovic 4-6, 7-6 (7-0), 7-6, (7-4) in just under 2 1/2 hours.

This year's champion will earn $343,000.
