Lake Forest, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bears announced a two- year contract extension for cornerback Demontre Hurst on Wednesday.

The Oklahoma product completed his first on-field campaign by posting 39 tackles and one interception over 15 games, two of those starts. Hurst was a 2013 draft pick of Chicago, but spent his first NFL season on the practice squad.

"I'm just happy to be back with the guys. They pretty much helped me throughout the season last year to keep growing with them," Hurst said.

Hurst was an exclusive-rights free agent and was only permitted to negotiate and sign with the Bears.
