Charleston Southern football has taken big steps in coach Jamey Chadwell's first two seasons.
The Buccaneers hope a Big South championship could come next this season as part of their challenging 11-game schedule announced Tuesday.
The Bucs will play five games at home, including against 2014 co-Big South champions Coastal Carolina (Oct. 31) and Liberty (Nov. 14, Homecoming). They also will host North Greenville (Sept. 3) and East Tennessee State (Sept. 17) in non-conference action and Big South member Monmouth (Oct. 10).
The road schedule features visits two FBS opponents for the second consecutive season, Sept. 12 at Troy and Nov. 21 at Alabama.
"I am excited about the opportunities that we have for our 2015 schedule," said Chadwell, whose first two teams have finished 10-3 and 8-4. "We have our Big South games with two of our biggest rivals being at home. It's also exciting to have the opportunity to play Troy, which has a rich tradition, and obviously Alabama, with their history of national prominence, the numerous championships and the atmosphere of Bryant-Denney Stadium."
