New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Connecticut remained the top-ranked team in the latest Associated Press women's college basketball poll.
The defending champion Huskies returned to the top spot last week after beating then-undefeated and No. 1 South Carolina the week prior, and followed last week with easy wins over Houston and Tulsa.
UConn, which also spent the first two weeks at No. 1 before a November loss to Stanford, received all 34 first-place votes and a total of 850 points from a nationwide media panel.
South Carolina remained second and is again followed by Baylor, Notre Dame, Maryland, Tennessee, Oregon State, Louisville and Florida State. Arizona State moved up two spots into 10th.
The second 10 consists of Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Kentucky, unbeaten Princeton, North Carolina, Duke, Iowa, Chattanooga, Stanford and Rutgers. Duke dropped six places from 10th after losses at Notre Dame and NC State last week.
Florida Gulf Coast, George Washington, Syracuse and newcomers California and Northwestern are the last five teams ranked.
Nebraska and James Madison fell out this week.
