San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy was resting comfortably in a hospital after having two stents inserted into his heart Thursday, the team said.

The Giants said in a statement that Bochy's heart was being monitored by team medical staff since a physical on Wednesday because he was experiencing some discomfort.

The 59-year-old manager was admitted to Scottsdale Healthcare Medical Center, where the procedure was performed. He will be released Friday.

In October, the Giants beat St. Louis in seven games to win their third World Series title in the past five years. Bochy has managed the team since 2007.
