Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Eagles released tight end James Casey on Thursday.
Casey originally signed with the Eagles as a free agent during the 2013 offseason. In two years with the team, he caught six passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Casey spent most of his time on special teams.
The 30-year-old veteran was slated to earn $4 million in 2015.
Casey spent four seasons with the Texans before flocking to Philadelphia. He has 72 catches for 842 yards and six touchdowns in 92 career games.
The move leaves the Eagles with three tight ends: Brent Celek, Zach Ertz and Trey Burton.
