Cedar Falls, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Seth Tuttle had 16 points to guide No. 14 Northern Iowa to a 69-53 victory over Drake on Saturday.
Matt Bohannon had 14 points and Paul Jesperson added 12 for the Panthers (22-2, 11-1 MVC), who have ripped off 11 straight wins since a loss at Evansville on New Year's Day.
Reed Timmer scored 10 points and was the only player in double-digits for the Bulldogs (7-17, 4-8), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
Northern Iowa jumped out to an 11-2 lead 3 1/2 minutes in on a Jesperson 3- ball and took its first double-digit lead on a Bohannon trey with just under nine minutes to play for a 22-11 advantage.
Drake was unable to put together any big runs in the first half, and the Panthers took a 36-20 advantage into the break.
A 7-1 run from the Bulldogs saw the team get to within nine at 51-42 after C.J. Rivers put in a layup with 9 1/2 minutes to play, but Jesperson had a pair of 3s that sandwiched a Nate Buss 3 to build the lead back to 18.
Drake never got closer than 13 the rest of the way.
Northern Iowa hosts Illinois State on Wednesday ... Drake hosts Bradley on Wednesday ... Northern Iowa shot 64.1 percent from the floor and held Drake to 47.6 percent shooting ... The Panthers have won 11 of the last 13 meetings against the Bulldogs and are 41-25 in the series.
