Yoo, Lincicome lead as weather stops play in Bahamas

Paradise Island, Bahamas (SportsNetwork.com) - Sun Young Yoo carded a 4-under 69 in windy conditions on Friday and she moved into a share of the lead with the second round of the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic suspended due to darkness.

Yoo ended 36 holes at 7-under-par 139. The 2012 Kraft Nabisco champion stands alongside Brittany Lincicome, who was 2-under par through five holes of round two to reach minus-7.

Jenny Shin and Kelly Shon both carded 2-under 71s on Friday. They were joined at minus-6 by Dori Carter (72) and Inbee Park, who is through five holes of her second round.

Mika Miyazato and Perrine Delacour both shot 3-under 70 on the Ocean Club Golf Course at Atlantis Resort. They are tied for seventh place at 5-under-par 141. First-round leader Brooke Pancake is one of five players at minus-5 that didn't complete their second rounds.

The second round was suspended for the night due to darkness. The sixty players that didn't finish their second round will return to the course on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. ET to resume their rounds.

Yoo, a two-time LPGA Tour winner, played the back nine first on Friday. After a par on the 10th, she birdied Nos. 11 and 13 to move to minus-5. She ran off three straight pars from the 14th before dropping in back-to-back birdies at 17 and 18.

The 28-year-old closed her round with nine straight pars on the front nine.

"It was very tough, especially with the wind. I just tried to stay focused and just tried to make the right putt with the wind," Yoo said. "Overall, I think I was doing really good the last two rounds, and I still have two rounds to go, so I'm looking forward to it."

Lincicome was off to a fast start with birdies on the second and fourth. After she parred the fifth, play was stopped by darkness.

"It was kind of just like hit it and laugh kind of mentality. Like we weren't taking anything really seriously. We knew it was going to be blowing really strong, and we're just thankful we didn't have to play all day," Lincicome said. "We only had to play a couple holes, which was really nice, and they say tomorrow's going to be windy. Hopefully not as windy as today."

NOTES: The wind was blowing 20 mph and gusting to 35-40 mph on Friday ... The cut line will likely fall at 2-over par, as there are 83 players at plus-2 or better heading into the restart on Saturday morning.
