Genoa, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - This week's Fed Cup quarterfinal between host Italy and France will get underway Saturday with a singles bout between former French Open runner-up Sara Errani and Caroline Garcia.

Errani-Garcia will be followed by a rubber between the hosts' Camila Giorgi and Alize Cornet.

On Sunday on the indoor red clay at 105 Stadium, reverse singles will pit Errani against Cornet and Giorgi versus Garcia, while a potentially deciding doubles affairs has Karin Knapp and Roberta Vinci taking on a French duo of Kristina Mladenovic and Pauline Parmentier.

The winner of this best-of-five battle will meet the Canada-Czech Republic victor in the semifinals in April.

Team Italy is captained by Corrado Barazzutti, while the French are guided by Andy Murray's coach, former world No. 1 woman Amelie Mauresmo.

The Italians are seeking their fifth Fed Cup title in 10 years. The French own two championships, with their last one coming in 2003.

France is 6-3 all-time versus Italy, but the Italians have won the last three meetings.
