Wichita, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was charged with possession of marijuana over an incident in Wichita, Kansas, early Tuesday morning.

According to Wichita police, Randle was charged of unlawful possession of marijuana at 2:53 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers responded to a domestic violence call involving a weapon at a hotel in the city, according to KSN-TV. They found Randle and a 22-year-old woman and observed a small amount of marijuana in the room, which was rented to Randle.

According to the report, an associate of Randle's had taken a handgun from the scene.

Randle was cited for possession and given a date to appear in court and police considered it an arrest because of the small amount of marijuana found in the room.

Randle's agent, Erik Burkhardt, disputed the use of the term "arrest."

"Joseph Randle was NOT arrested," Burkhardt tweeted. "He was cited with a ticket, and the police officer then left his hotel room.

"There was zero 'violence' of any kind, domestic or otherwise. He was asking 3 (people) to exit his room, who didn't want to leave. It was loud. Cops were called. Ticket issued. People and officer left. He went to bed."

In October, Randle was arrested at Dillard's department store in Frisco, Texas, on a class B misdemeanor charge of theft between $50 and $500. The items he was accused of stealing were men's underwear and cologne.

Randle carried the ball 51 times for 343 yards and three touchdowns this past season.
