Rome, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Victor Ibarbo secured a move from Cagliari to Roma on loan with the capital club having the option to make the switch permanent at the end of the season.

The loan will cost Roma an initial $2.8 million for Ibarbo, while the club will have to pay Cagliari $14 million for the permanent switch of the striker.

Ibarbo arrives at Roma one day after another forward, Seydou Doumbia, joined the club from CSKA Moscow, with both players serving as cover following the departure of Mattia Destro to AC Milan on Friday.

The 24-year-old Ibarbo joined Cagliari prior to the 2011-12 season and he went on to score 15 goals in 115 league matches.

After making his debut with Colombia's national team in 2010, Ibarbo has earned 11 caps and was a member of the 2014 World Cup team that reached the quarterfinals.
