Munich, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Bayern Munich has confirmed that both Franck Ribery and Bastian Schweinsteiger will miss the club's Champions League clash in Portugal against FC Porto on Wednesday.

The absence of the duo only adds to the injury woes for manager Pep Guardiola ahead of Bayern's quarterfinal first-leg match in Porto, with Bayern having played Saturday's Bundesliga contest against Eintracht with just four men on the bench.

Ribery has returned to light training after struggling with an ankle problem, but he is not yet fit enough to return to action, while midfield ace Schweinsteiger has a virus that will prevent him from taking part in Wednesday's match.

In addition to Ribery and Schweinsteiger Bayern will also be without Arjen Robben, Medhi Benatia, David Alaba and Javi Martinez, although Guardiola got a bit of good news with the return of defender Jerome Boateng from a muscle injury.

Bayern reached the last eight of the competition after hammering Shakhtar Donetsk, 7-0, on aggregate in the round of 16, while the club owns a 10-point lead atop the Bundesliga table with six games to play.
