Uniondale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Islanders forward Kyle Okposo is expected to be sidelined 6-to-8 weeks with an upper-body injury, head coach Jack Capuano announced Monday.

It's a significant blow for the surprising Islanders, who sit atop the Metropolitan Division. Okposo, 26, has registered 14 goals and 30 assists in 46 games this season.

The former first-round pick has 113 goals and 185 assists in 436 career games with the Islanders.
