Turin, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Paul Pogba produced a dazzling performance at Juventus Stadium on Sunday to lead the hosts to a 2-0 victory over Chievo.

Juventus was held in check for the opening period, but Pogba looked the most likely player to break the deadlock after conjuring a number of fine dribbling displays in the first half.

The Frenchman eventually was rewarded for his creativity at the hour mark when he collected a square pass just outside the penalty area, eased past a couple of Chievo defenders and uncorked a lethal left-footed strike that found the bottom corner.

Pogba nearly doubled Juve's advantage in spectacular fashion in the 74th minute when he got on the end of a cross into the box, brought the delivery down with an acrobatic touch and punched a quick shot on target. His attempt was parried away but only as far as Stephan Lichtsteiner, who was arriving to slam home the rebound.

Juventus cruised the rest of the way to move to 49 points on the season, extending its lead at the Serie A summit to seven points following Roma's 1-1 draw at Fiorentina.

Roma fell behind at the Stadio Artemio Franchi as Mario Gomez beat the offside trap in the 19th minute to redirect a shot into the bottom corner from close range.

But the visitors managed to get a share of the spoils with an equalizer inside the first five minutes of the second half as Adem Ljajic swept home a square pass from Juan Manuel Iturbe in the 49th.

Inter Milan's slide down the Serie A table continued Sunday as the club succumbed to a 90th-minute strike from Emiliano Moretti to suffer a 1-0 home loss to Torino.

Hellas Verona, meanwhile, needed just a goal from Javier Saviola in the 53rd minute to collect a 1-0 victory over Atalanta and pull further away from the relegation zone.

Cesena received a 90th-minute goal from Alejandro Rodriguez to earn a dramatic 2-1 win at struggling Parma while Citadin Martins Eder and Franco Vazquez exchanged goals in a 1-1 draw between Sampdoria and 10-man Palermo.
