Dingwall, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Kris Commons' second-half strike held up as the difference on Saturday as Celtic claimed a 1-0 victory over Ross County at Victoria Park.
Coming off a 4-0 drubbing of Motherwell in midweek, the Hoops battled through a difficult and scoreless first half before finally breaking the deadlock in the 53rd minute when Commons fired home his fourth goal of the campaign.
Ross County failed to find an equalizer and extended its winless run in league play to 10 matches as the club remains at the foot of the table with just 11 points from 22 matches.
Celtic widened their margin atop the table to three points over second-place Aberdeen with the victory.
Also in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday, Charles Telfer netted a pair of goals and Jaroslaw Fojut added a third strike as Dundee United claimed a 3-1 result over Motherwell, while Inverness knocked off Hamilton, 2-0, at New Douglas Park.
Frederik Frans scored with six minutes to play to rescue a point for Partick Thistle in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Kilmarnock, while Gary Irvine and Iain Davidson found the back of the net to lift Dundee to a 2-1 win over St. Mirren.
