San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco Giants signed outfielder Nori Aoki to a one-year contract on Monday.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but according to CSN Bay Area, the contract is worth $4 million with a $5.5 million club option for 2016.

Aoki, 33, hit .285 with 43 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 132 games for the AL- champion Kansas City Royals last season. He started four of the seven World Series games in right field, but struggled at the plate, going 1-for-14 (.071) in the seven-game set against San Francisco.

Aoki, who becomes the fifth Japanese-born player to wear a Giants uniform, will return to the National League, where he spent his first two MLB seasons in Milwaukee. For his career, he has hit .287 with a .353 on-base percentage, while striking out just 144 times in over 1,811 plate appearances.
