Hobart, Australia (SportsNetwork.com) - Brit Heather Watson and American Madison Brengle reached the final at the Hobart International tennis event.
Watson upended eighth-seeded American Alison Riske 6-3, 7-5 in a match that was interrupted by rain on multiple occasions, the last with Watson serving on match point at 5-4. Once play resumed, Watson double-faulted and Riske eventually broke to level the second set.
Watson finished the job in her next service game after earning a break.
The 22-year-old Watson reached her second WTA final after capturing a title in Osaka in 2012. She will face the qualifier Brengle on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Delaware native Brengle reached her first-ever WTA final by beating Japan's Kurumi Nara 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
Watson beat Brengle in their lone WTA meeting in Quebec City in 2010.
