Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New Orleans Pelicans were without two of their best players for Friday night's game against Philadelphia.

Big man Anthony Davis was out with a sprained left toe he suffered in Wednesday's win over Detroit and point guard Jrue Holiday was out for a second straight game with right ankle inflammation.

Pelicans coach Monty Williams said Davis' toe grew sore near the end of the Pistons game and didn't respond to treatment as well as the team would have liked.

"He feels better, but not where he needs to be," Williams said. "Jrue is feeling better, but not where he needs to be."

Ryan Anderson will start for Davis at power forward and Tyreke Evans will fill in for Holiday again.
