Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Blue Jays agreed to terms on one-year contracts with outfielder Michael Saunders and pitcher Marco Estrada on Friday, avoiding arbitration.
Saunders will receive $2.875 million in 2015, while Estrada is set to earn $3.9 million.
Saunders was acquired by the Blue Jays from the Mariners in exchange for pitcher J.A. Happ last month. He hit .273 with eight homers, 34 RBI and a career-best .341 on-base percentage in 78 games last season.
The 28-year-old Saunders is a career .231 hitter with 51 homers and 182 RBI over 553 games with Seattle.
Toronto acquired Estrada from Milwaukee in a November trade, sending Adam Lind to the Brewers. The right-hander went 7-6 with a 4.36 ERA in 39 games (18 starts) last season.
The 31-year-old Estrada is 23-26 with a 4.23 ERA over 154 career games (71 starts) with the Nationals and Brewers.
