Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Luc Mbah a Moute and Hollis Thompson each scored 19 points as the Philadelphia 76ers topped the Atlanta Hawks 92-84 on Saturday.
Nerlens Noel netted 11 points with a career-high 17 rebounds and five steals for the 76ers, who ended a four-game skid. Robert Covington and Isaiah Canaan each scored 12 points
Jeff Teague had 17 points and Dennis Schroder tallied 16 off the bench for the Hawks, who rested Kyle Korver, Paul Millsap, DeMarre Carroll and Pero Antic after a 106-97 win over Cleveland on Friday.
Late in the third quarter, the 76ers embarked on a 12-1 burst that was capped on a pair of Thomas Robinson jumpers for a 72-65 lead with 42.9 seconds left in the third, but Schroder's pair of free throws and layup with 0.9 seconds to go made it a 72-69 game heading into the final quarter.
Mike Scott and Shelvin Mack deposited consecutive triples to start the fourth, but Thompson tied the game at 79-79 with one of his own with 6:49 to play.
Canaan made three from the charity stripe and Noel drove through the lane for a layup, giving the 76ers an 87-83 edge with 3:10 to go.
Noel and Kent Bazemore each split a pair of free throws, but Mbah a Moute hit a crucial trey with 1:05 to play to seal the win.
Scott knocked down two shots from beyond the arc and the Hawks ended the opening frame on a 14-2 run to take a 31-20 lead.
Thompson scored 11 points during the second to help the 76ers whittle the deficit to 53-47 at halftime.
Canaan and Covington hit back-to-back 3s as Philadelphia scored the first eight points of the third to take a 55-53 edge.
