Wozniacki, Venus to meet in Auckland finals

Auckland, New Zealand (SportsNetwork.com) - Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams were winners on Friday to advance to the finals of the ASB Classic.

Wozniacki, the top seed in this season-opening event, was a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 winner over fourth-seeded Barbora Zahlavova Strycova in the first match of the day.

Third-seeded Williams then made quick work of Lauren Davis, topping her countrymate in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3.

Williams was a runner-up at this event in 2014, losing a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 decision to Ana Ivanovic.
