Auburn Hills, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Andre Drummond had 22 points with 13 rebounds in the Detroit Pistons' 105-95 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope registered 18 points and Reggie Jackson posted 12 points with 11 assists in the win.

Detroit has won five of its last six games.

"I thought our defense was better (later in the game), particularly at the basket challenging shots," said Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy. "We didn't give up the number of layups early in the game."

Thabo Sefolosha paced the top-seeded Hawks with 19 points off the bench, Al Horford scored 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting and Shelvin Mack contributed 12 points in a reserve role.

"I just think coach wants everybody to have good rhythm at this point," Horford said. "He just wants everybody to get more minutes."

The Pistons had a spirited start, converting 10 of their first 11 shots and racing out to a 25-14 lead. Sefolosha then opened and closed an 8-0 run with layups later in the first that brought Atlanta within 29-26. Drummond's dunk sent Detroit into the second with a 33-28 lead.

Kent Bazemore's 3-pointer with 2:01 left in the first half capped a 9-0 spurt for the Hawks and gave them a 50-47 lead. Jackson's 10th assist of the opening half led to a Drummond layup and helped the Pistons to a 52-50 edge at the break.

Detroit held Atlanta scoreless for the final 2:59 of the third and bridged the fourth with a 14-0 burst that opened its lead up to 83-72.

The Hawks cut their deficit to five on a couple of occasions later in the fourth, but Anthony Tolliver dropped in a 3-pointer with 7:07 remaining that started string of nine straight points for a 96-82 Pistons lead.

Detroit led by as many as 16 before Atlanta cut down the margin in the closing minutes.

Dennis Schroder, who left Atlanta's win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, was diagnosed with a toe sprain and is considered day-to-day ... Tolliver had 13 points and a season-high 10 rebounds, while John Lucas III netted a season- high 15 points in the win ... Detroit scored 22 points off 18 Atlanta turnovers.
