Coral Gables, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Miami-Florida running back Duke Johnson has decided to forego his final year of eligibility to enter the NFL Draft.

Johnson ran for 1,652 yards during the 2014 season and will leave the Hurricanes as the storied program's all-time leading rusher with 3,519 yards. He also finished with 26 rushing touchdowns and 5,523 all-purpose yards in 33 games.

"I think looking at the list and the guys I've passed is an accomplishment in and of itself," said Johnson in a statement Sunday. "I'm very grateful to have [had] an opportunity to return kicks, catch the ball out of the backfield and run the ball where I can get up above all these great UM players who came before me."

Johnson missed the final five games of the 2013 season because of an ankle injury, but rebounded with a stellar campaign that featured a streak of six straight 100-yard games. He also averaged 6.8 yards per carry and finished with 10 rushing touchdowns in 2014.

The junior from Miami finished his career Saturday with 132 yards in a loss against South Carolina in the Independence Bowl. He notched his 14th career 100-yard game, matching Edgerrin James and Clinton Portis for the most in school history.
