Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Georgia running back Todd Gurley will forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft, his college coach said Friday.

"He will be moving on to the next level," Mark Richt said in Charlotte, where the Bulldogs are practicing for Tuesday's Belk Bowl against Louisville.

Richt said Gurley is "rehabbing well" after undergoing surgery to fix the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The junior suffered the injury on Nov. 15 against Auburn in his return from a four-game suspension for accepting more than $3,000 in cash from individuals for autographed memorabilia over a two-year period.

Gurley rushed for 911 yards and nine touchdowns on 123 carries in six games for the Bulldogs this season.

He was a top Heisman Trophy candidate after the first five games this season and a projected first-round pick.
