New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz has been transferred to a New York City hospital after spending a night in Philadelphia following a major knee injury.

The Giants announced Monday that Cruz was taken from Jefferson Hospital to the Hospital for Special Surgery where he will undergo evaluation.

Cruz tore the patellar tendon in his right knee in third quarter in the Giants' 27-0 loss to the Eagles on Sunday night. The injury happened as Cruz tried to catch a fourth-down pass in the end zone with the Giants trailing 20-0. He grabbed his knee and was in obvious pain while carted off the field.

A Pro Bowl pick in 2012, Cruz is known for his salsa dance after scoring touchdowns. The injury is expected to end his season.
