Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Jacksonville Jaguars signed safety Sherrod Martin on Tuesday.

Martin was a second-round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2009 and played in 59 games with 36 starts over four seasons (2009-12). His 2012 season was cut short due to a torn ACL. He was not with a team in 2013.

The Jaguars also signed linebacker Jeremiah George from the New York Jets' practice squad and tight end Nic Jacobs from the New Orleans Saints' practice squad. Safety Chris Prosinski (waived/injured), tight end Marcel Jensen and wide receiver Kerry Taylor were waived.

In addition, fullback Eric Kettani was signed to the practice squad.
