Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Rookie Ryan Rua had the first four-hit game of his career and the Texas Rangers got a two-run homer from Jake Smolinski in a 12-3 rout of the Angels.
Adrian Beltre had a two-run single and Dan Robertson drove in two runs for the Rangers, who posted their season-high seventh straight win.
Lisalverto Bonilla (2-0), in his second major league start, surrendered two hits and a pair of runs over five innings.
"We're feeding off playing well, but it starts with quality pitching," Rangers interim manager Tim Bogar said. "Everything we do now builds for next year."
Brennan Boesch belted a two-run homer for the AL West champions, who have lost two straight games.
Hector Santiago (5-9) surrendered seven hits and seven runs -- six earned -- and was lifted with no outs in the second inning. Adam Rosales blooped a single to drive in a run in the first inning and Smolinski homered to center later in the frame.
"I thought Hector had good stuff, he just missed spots and hit bats," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "He has to exhale. He's had a rough go the last two times."
The Rangers blew it open in the second by scoring four times, Robertson's bloop hit to center between three fielders plated Rua. Leonys Martin singled in a run and Robertson scored on a wild pitch by Vinnie Pestano. Martin came home on an Elvis Andrus sacrifice fly.
Beltre's two-RBI hit came in the fourth and Robertson's sac fly in the fifth made it 10-0.
Boesch went deep in the bottom portion and C.J. Cron doubled in a run in the home seventh.
Robinson Chirinos and Rua had run-scoring hits in the ninth.
