(SportsNetwork.com) - Longtime offensive guard Brian Waters has decided to retire from the NFL after 13 seasons.

Waters, 37, said in a statement Tuesday that he was walking away after "a long and wonderful career."

"If the rest of my life can be half as good as the last 15 years, I will be one of the luckiest people on earth," Waters said.

Waters made six Pro Bowls, the first five while playing for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2000-10 and again in one season for the New England Patriots in 2011.

He played 186 NFL games, starting 170. He appeared in seven games for the Dallas Cowboys last year before suffering a season-ending triceps injury.
