BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After four years of transforming Indiana's football program, coach Kevin Wilson believes it's time for a breakthrough season.
He has an incumbent quarterback, a potential 1,000-yard runner, a big, experienced offensive line and a deep cadre of young receivers.
What he needs now is a defense.
New coordinator Brian Knorr has been busy installing the new 3-4 system, which players and coaches say is more aggressive than what Indiana has run in the past. It could finally give the Hoosiers the kind of pass rush fans have been clamoring for.
If Indiana can add that component, it just might become bowl-eligible for the first time since 2007.
