Louisville, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - U.S. Ryder Cup captain Tom Watson named Steve Stricker as a vice captain for this year's team.
Watson made the announcement Wednesday at Valhalla Golf Club, site of the PGA Championship. He had previously named Raymond Floyd and Andy North as vice captains.
Stricker, 47, has played in each of the last three Ryder Cups.
This year's matches will be held at Gleneagles in Perthshire, Scotland, from Sept. 26-28.
Europe has won two straight Ryder Cups and five of the last six.
