New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - There will be outdoor hockey in California for a second straight season.

The NHL announced Wednesday that the San Jose Sharks will be the home team when they play the Los Angeles Kings at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on Feb. 21, 2015.

The venue is the new home of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers.

"The growing excitement around NHL hockey in California hockey, the intensity of last season's playoff series between these teams and the state-of-the-art setting at Levi's Stadium will bring a thrilling new dimension to the Kings- Sharks rivalry," NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said in a statement.

Los Angeles rallied from a 3-0 deficit to eliminate San Jose in the first round of this year's playoffs. The Kings went on to capture their second Stanley Cup title in three years.

It will be the first outdoor game for San Jose. Los Angeles will participate in its second after losing 3-0 to Anaheim at Dodger Stadium on Jan. 25.
