Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Detroit Tigers shortstop Eugenio Suarez left Monday night's game against the Yankees with a sprained left knee, the team said.

Suarez was hurt sliding into second base on a successful steal in the fifth inning. He hit the bag hard with his right foot but grimaced holding his left knee and motioned immediately to the dugout.

The Tigers said he would be reevaluated Tuesday morning.

He also left a game last Tuesday against the White Sox due to lower back tightness and sat out Wednesday's contest.
