CORTLAND, N.Y. – Muhammad Wilkerson knows he'll get paid.
The question is when — and he's willing to wait for that answer. Wilkerson believes he's an "elite" player and one of the league's top defensive ends, and he's in line for a big payday.
He refuses to let an uncertain contract situation get in the way of preparing for this season with the New York Jets. Wilkerson is excited by the prospects of the team's defensive line, a unit he says considers itself the best in the NFL.
While Wilkerson might not be the most recognizable player on the Jets, he could be their most valuable. After a team-leading 10 1/2 sacks last year, Wilkerson heads into his fourth season with even higher expectations.
