Hangeland completes move to Crystal Palace

London, England ( - Central defender Brede Hangeland has completed a move to Crystal Palace from Fulham, signing a one-year deal with the Eagles on Friday.

Hangeland, 33, left the Cottagers following the conclusion of last season which saw the west London club relegated from the Premier League. He spent 6 1/2 years with Fulham, amassing more than 200 appearances for the club.

"We had training after the medical and I am extremely happy to be here. It's been a long day, but a great day," Hangeland said. "I've done my homework on Palace, obviously I played against them last year and watched them play and they looked like an incredibly strong team.

"Everyone said that it's a club which is up-and-coming with a great bunch of lads with a good manager who organizes the team well and it's in London which is convenient for me. So I am delighted to be here and I cannot wait to get going."

Hangeland is Palace manager Tony Pulis' third signing of the summer, joining former Cardiff City forward Fraizer Campbell and goalkeeper Chris Kettings.
