Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he "did not know" whether running back Marshawn Lynch is about to end his holdout and report to training camp.

Carroll spoke after practice on Thursday when ESPN reported that Lynch intended to report within the next 24 hours. The team had no comment and Lynch's representatives did not return messages seeking comment.

Lynch has missed the first week of training camp unhappy with his contract status. Lynch is scheduled to make $5 million in base salary for 2014 with additional roster bonuses available. It's the third year of a four-year deal Lynch signed before the 2012 season.

Carroll said "that would be good" if Lynch reported. With Lynch away, the Seahawks have let Robert Turbin and Christine Michael get the bulk of carries during camp.
